Niepodległość = independence.
Pronounced: nyeh-poh-dleh-gwo-shch
On November 11th Poland celebrates the National Independence Day. This very important day commemorates Poland’s break from 123 years (1795-1918) of occupation, war and territorial partition. Considering that Poland was wiped off the map completely after the Third Partition in 1797, regaining independence was a proud moment in our history worth remembering and celebrating each year.
